Winter is Coming.

Ha, I can't even lie. I'm such a poser. I don't watch Game of Thrones yet. YET! Key word. I was too involved with breaking bad to veer into another show and then school and work got in the way. (I'm full of excuses) but I did read the first book, does that count? ;)

For sure, winter is coming, can you see my dry old lady hands?! Yikes! But the mani was too cute not to share. So here she is, dry hands and all.

The weather has been so bad in the South, I can hardly handle it. : / Hence the lighting in the photos. It's really past due for me to purchase a light box.

For the gradient (Tutorial here!) I used the classic China Glaze "For Audrey" and the white tips are Sinful Colors "Snow Me White" then I used Bundle Monster CYO 407 stamp. and stamped again with Snow Me White. For the finishing touch I added a micro glitter by Sinful Colors "Out of This World" to create a glistening snow look.

Is it freezing where you live yet? Are you staying warm by watching Game of Thrones under the blankets? Should I begin watching it ASAP? Tell me about it in the comments!

  1. Those are so pretty! And yes, where I live is freezing and double yes you should start watching Game of Thrones. Or read the books. I had to do both to really follow it...but I'm so glad I did!

    1. Thanks Serene! :) Yes, I really can't wait. Breaking bad ended and I need a new show... and I take my last final of the year on Friday! So, you should expect some comments coming your way about how awesome it is ;)

(Just a heads up, I tried to reply to the email that I was sent about this comment and it says you are a no reply blogger! D: You can google it to find how to fix it if you want to. :)

  2. Hi! I am from Will Paint Nails for Food Bootcamp. I love you manis! Your pictures are perfect! I can't really say anything bad except that maybe the borders of your blog distract me a bit. But that is only because your pictures are so lovely and vibrant. Does that make any sense? Hahaha! But I am glad I found your blog, can't wait to see more!

    1. Thank you! (I'm not really sure how to reply yet, should I do it here? Will you be notified? Should I reply through email? Ahh the blogger commenting system has stumped me, I just switched from the Google+ system) but Yes, I understand. I've been meaning to find a more... " updated" and less vintage theme. In all honesty I want to get a new template, I just haven't found the right one yet. Something clean. :) Glad I discovered yours as well! Kind of un mani related, but I love all the gagit-y owl-y images on your site, they are perfect!

    2. Also, Kirsten, I tried to reply through email, in case you didn't get a notification here and it says you are a no reply blogger. Just a heads up. There are MANY sites on how to fix it, google it if you're interested. (If you ever see this post) ;)

  3. Hello, I also arrived here from Will Paint Nails for Food Bootcamp.
As Kirsten said your blog is really good!
The only suggestion I may give you is -since your nail arts are beautiful- to improve the quality of your pics using a light box.
Hope it helps.... have a nice day!

  4. Hi! I'm also here through the WPNFF link up. I love your nail art, it looks amazing! (That tutorial with the gradient and dots was lovely). I agree with the above comment by Kirsten that your borders are slightly distracting. And personally, I prefer the width of the blog section to be wider and see less border. But I've got a nice big screen so it might be different for others.

    1. Thanks for your comment! I was a little worried that the tutorial was text heavy, but I'm glad you liked it. Yes, I'm looking into getting a cleaner looking layout and a new template. Thanks again :)

  5. Hi, I'm coming here via the WPNFF link-up. I love, love, love, your banner. It's perfection, seriously. :D I think your set up is really nice. I'm not having a problem with the border, but I have a smaller monitor. I like that you have your social media buttons right up top - that's great! (Side note: how did you get your email icon to work? I can't figure mine out yet! haha!) My only suggestion is that your pictures could be a bit brighter - I'm still figuring my own pics out, so I completely understand the hassle about that. Your first picture on this post is a good brightness level for me. :) Otherwise, you're doing a great job and I wish you the best of luck with your blog! Oh, edit: you might want to turn off captcha - it's really hard sometimes to figure it out. :)

    1. YAY I'm so glad you like my banner. It was my brothers idea + design + work behind it. He's pretty good at that. :)

And... my email button doesn't work (to my knowledge.) did you try it and it did? If so, yay! I was hoping someone could help me figure it out. ;) If I do find out how, I will totally let you know. :)

I agree, my pictures could be brighter, I'm looking into getting a light box. The days these pics were taken was VERY cloudy, but I needed to take them before the manis started to look... worn. haha and I'll consider the captcha, I just don't want spam, do you have any suggestions for that, avoiding spammy comments? Please, let me know.

Lastly, I just switched my blog from being linked to google+ to not being linked. I was a "no reply Blogger" meaning people couldn't email me their responses. (p.s. you are a no reply blogger. :C ) so i unlinked my account, so i believe that the link previously posted to G+ may not be active, but I think the future ones will.

Thanks so much for your feedback :)

    2. Well, your brother kicks some serious butt. haha! :) Your email button *does* work, yay! And I finally figured mine out (yay!). If you're interested in a lightbox, I actually built my own (out of cardboard!) using Chalkboard Nails' lightbox tutorial. :)

As far as comments, I've heard disqus is really good. :) (I'm trying to figure it out for my blog, but wordpress doesn't like to play nice with it. grr!)

I need to figure out the whole no reply thing. haha! Sometimes I'm smart with technology and sometimes I'm not so smart. :-P Hopefully I can figure it out.

  6. Oh, I forgot, your g+ link isn't working. I just get a blank page when I click on it.
